Newborn follow-ups.

Care for your newborn.

To schedule a follow-up visit after discharge from the hospital simply call our office at (228) 818-0585.  We like to schedule visits as soon after discharge from the hospital as possible, especially for breast fed babies.

Newborn follow-ups.

Close follow-up is needed to monitor newborn feeding and often to monitor the jaundice level.  We can monitor your baby's jaundice level with our in-house transcutaneous meter (which does NOT require a blood draw or heel stick), so that most of the time you can avoid return trips to the hospital for jaundice checks (which do involve a heel stick).

In the event your baby has a high jaundice level (which is not a rare occurrence), we can even issue a home phototherapy unit and provide training, so that your baby will not have to be readmitted to the hospital for phototherapy.

We can also counsel on feeding and breast feeding.

Please call 228.818.0585 to schedule an appointment.
